The Holland America Line was founded in the Netherlands in 1873. Between 1873 and 1989, the company mainly transported passengers and cargo on the Atlantic Ocean between Europe and America. She can therefore look back on a rich, versatile history. Holland America Line has been part of Carnival Corporation & Plc since 1989.

Holland America Line has a fleet of 14 elegant, medium-sized ships, from the smallest Maasdam (1,258 passengers - 588 crew) to the new generation such as the Nieuw Statendam (2,666 - 1,036). The company offers more than 500 voyages every year along 400 ports on seven continents and aims to allow its guests to experience new destinations and cultures in an authentic way. Explorations Central (EXC), Holland America Line's exclusive destination programming, deepens the destinations with travel information, lectures and excursions.

The shipping company is characterized by its longer routes, including world tours and Grand Voyages to specific regions. The ships sometimes stay in the harbor overnight to allow guests to discover the destinations even more extensively.

Zaandam

Designed to carry fewer guests while offering greater space, Zaandam is elegant and comfortable. Her décor is inspired by music and features musical instruments including signed guitars from Queen, Iggy Pop, Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones and a Baroque-style pipe organ.
