Cunard
The elegance of a legendary time Cunard can look back on a long maritime tradition.
The shipping company was founded in 1838 by Canadian Samuel Cunard and took over the White Star Line in 1934. Cunard is the oldest cruise line and is the only company that still has a trans-Atlantic liner. Although today owned by the Carnival Corporation, the airline continues to exude a classic British flair.
Cunard is one of the pioneers of passenger transport by sea. She launched the first Atlantic crossing in 1840, the only way to reach the New World at the time. Cunard has maintained its prestige and distinct British style over the years with a strict dress code and traditions such as the afternoon tea, perfectly served by waiters in white gloves, and the dance evenings with orchestra in the Queen's Room, the ballroom on board the ships. Of course, the typical pub should not be missed. The crew is international and the officers mainly British.
